Jean-Christophe Rolland


President of the CNCPI (2021-2022)

Jean-Christophe Rolland, the elected Chairman of the French Patent & Trademark Attorneys Institute (CNCPI), took office for a two-year term on 1 January 2021. He is a French and European patent attorney with a degree in engineering from the Institut National Polytechnique (INPG) in Grenoble, and in patent law from the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI). He began his career at an industrial property (IP) consultancy firm before working in the industrial sector as Director of Industrial Property at Valeo, an automotive supplier. In 2010, he returned to IP consultancy as a partner at Gevers & Orès, of which he is now the president. His interest in the life of the profession began as a member of the CNCPI, then as chairman of the Forward Planning Committee (renamed the Future of the Profession and Digital Developments Committee). He went on to join the Board of the CNCPI, of which he was also the treasurer. He has been heavily involved in training as a tutor and member of the examination board for French and European qualifying examinations.
