Deputy Head of Unit, Intangible Economy, DG GROW

Since March 2021, Claudia is Deputy Head of Unit in the Commission, GROW Unit C4: Intangible Economy. Her Unit is responsible for the management and development of a solid European intellectual property legal framework including a strong EU policy against counterfeiting and the development of the new EU geographical indication scheme for craft and industrial products. The Unit also supports innovation and better SMEs’ access to and management of IP rights, thus, transforming intangible assets into concrete economic deliverables also in view of a strong economic recovery. Before joining Unit C4, Claudia held various positions in the European Commission, as Deputy Head of Unit dealing with Single Market policy on the free movement of goods, mutual Recognition, market surveillance, and before that, as legal and policy officer, on services and competition-related issues.Before joining the Commission, Claudia worked as a public affairs and communication consultant on issues related to the digital agenda, sports related matters, and agricultural field. She also worked in the European Parliament for several years in the field of communication and audio-visual media. Afterstudying Law at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, and at Paris XIII University, she specialised in EU law at the College of Europe, Bruges.
