Professor at the University of Alicante, expert in Intellectual Property Law
Pilar Montero is Professor at the University of Alicante, expert in Intellectual Property Law, Competition Law and Digitalization. She is currently Director of the Master on Intellectual Property and Digital Innovation, Magister Lvcentinvs of the University of Alicante. Her work covers intellectual property law, in particular distinctive signs: trademarks and geographical indications, competition law, digitalization, and corporate law. Consultant for the European Parliament in the field of intellectual property, she is author of scientific articles in the field of geographical indications and trade marks, she is regular speaker in national and international seminars and scientific events. She participle as expert in several private and public institutions, such as the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the Spanish Trademark and Patent Office (OEPM). She is a member of the Expert Group for the Observatory on the Online Platform Economy of the European Commission and of the EUIPO Observatory. She is also a member of the geographical indications committee of INTA, and professor in different international programs. She is part of the University Expert Title of the University of Alicante “Legal regime of plant breeding and distinctive quality signs”.
